CIBanco será la primera institución financiera en México en utilizar energía solar para operar en sus oficinas y distintas sucursales mediante un programa que inició con la instalación de 210 paneles solares y cuya prueba piloto será el Centro Regional Sureste en Cancún, “Mayland”.
La instalación de los paneles será suficiente para suministrar energía solar a esta oficina y cubrir sus requerimientos energéticos diarios. El proyecto tiene una capacidad instalada de 50.4 kilowatt pico, 277.2 kilowatts en promedio diario y cerca de 101.178 kilowatts al año. Este cambio tendrá como resultado una disminución de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero equivalentes a 68.5 toneladas de CO2.
Después de tener operando “Mayland” con energía renovable, el plan deCIBanco es extender este sistema a los centros de Puebla y Torreón en su afán por ser el primer banco verde de México. Es importante contar con instituciones que se ocupen de disminuir su huella ambiental.
Los grandes corporativos tienen el capital para hacer sus operaciones más sustentables, no es más un servicio a la comunidad sino un ahorro a largo plazo y en términos financieros. Un proyecto de energía solar puede traer grandes recortes de costos en energía y genera además una buena imagen ante sus clientes.
