Después de 7 años de planear el proyecto, los productores de sorgo del norte de Tamaulipas por fin han logrado establecer la empresa Bioenergéticos Mexicanos. Dicha se dedicará a la producción de etanol derivado del sorgo y han logrado establecer un primer contrato con Pemex.
La empresa se encuentra ubicada en Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas aunque la construcción de la planta iniciará en 2016, mientras tanto se encuentran buscando inversionistas para reunir el capital necesario. El primer litro de etanol de sorgo deberá entregarse a Pemex en enero de 2018.
Al cabo de 2 años, la planta estará lista para producir y se espera que en algún punto, la planta comience a generar excedentes que se puedan utilizar en otros sectores además de las gasolinas. Por ahora los permisos legales están resueltos pero es un proyecto a mediano y largo plazo el que esta planta se encuentre funcionando.
Como tendencia mundial, varios países han iniciado a sustituir gasolinas poretanol, de hecho Pemex tiene un programa en el que toda la gasolina del país deberá contener un 6% de etanol, así sabemos que hay un futuro próspero para la industria en México. De hecho, países como Estados Unidos y Brasil comenzaron sus programas para usar etanol hace años, el atraso en el nuestro se debió a que no dependíamos de importaciones importantes de gasolina.
En un principio y para completar la demanda que se tiene proyectada para la Ley de Promoción y Desarrollo de Combustibles, habrá que importar etanol, pero la idea e que a un plazo más grande todo empiece a producirse en México. Como vemos, por fuentes de energías más limpias y renovables nuestro país no para, debemos movernos y dejar atrás los hidrocarburos.
