En México se produce un diésel tan malo y se tienen unas normas ambientales tan permisivas que Volkswagen ni siquiera tenía que haber traído el software que altera la medición de gases tóxicos.
En nuestro país es normal el consumo de malos combustibles que contaminan el ambiente y los niveles de gases letales de los vehículos alemanes son permitidos en México.
Volkswagen violó la legislación ambiental de Estados Unidos y Europa con sus niveles de óxido nitroso, entre 5 y 35 veces superiores a los estándares permitidos, pero en nuestro país ese nivel de contaminación es normal.
De acuerdo con la columna que publica José Yuste en el Excélsior, ni siquiera la Profeco podrá multar a Volkswagen porpublicidad engañosa, pues la compañía cumplió con las relajadas normas ambientales mexicanas.
“El problema es nuestro diésel. Nuestro combustible es tan contaminante, que las sanciones que los demás países están poniendo a Volkswagen ni siquiera pueden aplicarse en México”.
“En otras palabras: producimos diésel contaminante y normas ambientales que lo solapan. La situación llegó a las oficinas deRafael Pacchiano, quien acaba de sentarse en la Semarnat, laSecretaría del Medio Ambiente del gobierno federal y, desde luego, prendió las alarmas rojas” dice José Yuste.
El software para alterar las emisiones era inútil en México, pues las leyes ambientales nacionales permiten arrojar al aire niveles de gases tóxicos mucho mayores que los que permitenEstados Unidos y Europa.
“Volkswagen en México ni siquiera tendría que haber traído el software de control de emisiones para simular una menor contaminación. La Norma 042 de nuestro país, que debe ver las emisiones de contaminantes, la cumplen los vehículos diésel que en otros países son dañinas”.
“La Profepa no investiga los certificados ambientales de los vehículos de VW con motor diésel de cuatro cilindros, sencillamente porque en México se cumplió con nuestra legislación ambiental. Es decir, lo que en Estados Unidos, Europa y Asia es altamente contaminante, en México no lo es”.
“La Procuraduría Federal del Consumidor, tampoco podría actuar por publicidad engañosa, pues en México se cumplieron las normas ambientales que en otros países no”.
La columna firmada por José Yustes afirma que con excepción de México, VW engañó en el resto del mundo.
“Volkswagen utilizó este tipo de motor para impulsar su industria diésel en contraposición con los motores híbridos o eléctricos, sobre todo en Estados Unidos. El engaño fue mayúsculo en EU,países europeos, la misma Alemania, donde VW tiene su casa matriz. En todos lados, menos… en México, porque aquí producimos un diésel contaminante”.
“No es la primera vez que Volkswagen y otras marcas se ven favorecidos por la laxitud en las normas ambientales mexicanas. Recordemos que el VW Sedán (el famoso vochito) siguió vendiéndose en México durante años cuando en otros países su motor ya era muy contaminante”.
La columna remata diciendo que las autoridades solapan que Pemex produzca malos combustibles y que a Volkswagen le resultó fácil cumplir con las normas ambientales en nuestro país.
“El problema es nuestro diésel contaminante (donde Pemex es el productor). Y las normas ambientales que, en lugar de exigir undiésel más amigable, lo han solapado. Y si VW engañó a todo el mundo, en nuestro país ni siquiera eso fue necesario”.
